As every year, at EUC 2013 the Erlang community will reward one Erlang user whose contribution to the development of the Erlang language has been outstanding. You are invited to submit your proposed names with a short motivation until 17 May here.
Nominations will be analysed by a panel headed by Bjarne Däcker and composed of five members: Joe Armstrong, Robert Virding, Kenneth Lundin - head of the Ericsson Erlang/OTP team, Dave Smith - winner of the 2011 award and Fred Hebert - winner of the 2012 award.
Having the inventors of Erlang Mike Williams, Robert Virding and Joe Armstrong all together on the same stage is a very rare occurrence. And when their talk is about their vast experience and how it influenced the developing of Erlang, you know 'Over a century of programming' is one keynote you do not want to miss.
The Early Bird admission will close on 15th of May at 24.00 Sweden Time (GMT+1), so hurry up and get your ticket!

Co-inventor of Erlang Joe Armstrong will be replacing Claes Wikström as a keynote speaker on the 22nd of March at the Erlang Factory SF Bay conference. Joe Armstrong's talk is titled The How and Why of Fitting Things Together.

The London Erlang Factory Lite 2012 conference will take place on the 8th of November and will be hosted at the Google Campus. It will be preceeded by three days of courses (5-7 November).
There will be 12 talks and 15 speakers from companies such as Basho, Klarna, VMware and Erlang Solutions. Erlang co-inventors Robert Virding and Mike Williams will give talks; other topics include Google APIs with Erlang, Travis-CI, RabbitMQ and Riak. Listen to case studies on how Erlang is used in radio astronomy and the smart energy sectors. networking opportunities, great company and beer at the Basho-sponsored Erlounge in the evening.

The first meeting was led by Omer Kilic on the 18th of September. The main theme was the RaspberryPi and demonstrating how, by creating a layered architecture for hardware modules and partitioning up complex systems in smaller units, testing becomes much easier, runtime errors are contained, and the architecture becomes maintainable.
The second one is going to take place on 23th of October again at Erlang Solutions' London office. It will feature Torben Hoffmann, who will give a talk on Erlang and multi-core and cloud environments.

Kenji Rikitake who is a self proclaimed Network Security Professional and Erlang/OTP Enthusiast is also a Professor at the Academic Centre for Computing and Media Studies (ACCMS) at Kyoto University. His insightful talk entitled, "Erlang/OTP and how the PRNGs work" will look at current status of the PRNGs in Erlang/OTP, the security and performance implications, and how they could be improved by introducing new algorithms and is one not to miss!

On the 16th November 312 people gathered in Stockholm for the 16th International Erlang User Conference. Delegates from across the globe were treated to 14 excellent talks from by expert speakers from across the industry.
The Erlang User of the Year award for 2010 was presented to Kresten Krab Thorup for his work in the development of Erjang.
At the end of the conference, delegates participated in a traditional Erlounge involving beer, wine and good food.
Over 50 people attended the tutorials which were held at the Ericsson headquarters which gave attendees the chance to get hands on with Erlang.

The programme has been finalised for the Erlang User Conference. With talks from Motorola, Google, Basho, Gemini Mobile and many more, this year's conference is packed full of exciting talks, with great speakers such as Simon Thompson, Kenneth Lundin, Tino Breddin and Joseph Wayne Norton.

After the very intensive day of the Erlang User Conference delegates and speakers are invited to an Erlounge and Dinner that will be held also at the Astoria. Due to the move to this great venue it is now possible for the whole event to be held in the same location. There will be drinks and a buffet dinner provided courtesy of the sponsors. The Erlounge will start at 18:30 and end around 22:00. See you there!

We are honoured to have the manager of the Ericsson Erlang/OTP development team agree to speak. Kenneth Lundin will talk about the latest features of the Erlang/OTP R13B release and its performance with multi-core processors. Other recent accepted talks are from Bhaskar Kode - co-founder of hover.in - who will be discussing the reasons for the choice of Erlang for their platform back-end and Hunter Morris who will show how Erlang was used in the development of the SMarkets sports betting engine. Stay tuned, we are now adding talks on a daily basis.
Lennart Öhman - the inventor of the OTP Design Patterns, Rusty Klophaus - the inventor of the Nitrogen Web Framework and Yariv Sadan, - the creator of ErlyWeb have all confirmed for the Palo Alto Factory. There are now over 30 international speakers and this promises to be the largest collection of Erlang talent ever assembled in one place.
