BEAM - 'The Times They Are A-Changin'

Since the introduction of SMP into the Erlang VM, not buch has been done to increase the scalability of the time primitives provided to the Erlang programmer. Soon new features to deal with time and timers will be introduced into Erlang, this talk will give an intro to the new features and the mechanisms behind them.

Talk objectives:

- Prepare advanced Erlang users for the new API's to be introduced to manage time and timers. And also give an introduction to the woes of time travel;

Target audience:

- Anyone that has the correct time;

Lukas first came in contact with Erlang 2004 while studying in Göteborg. He has been working with Erlang at Erlang Solutions for about 10 years in many different industries. For the last 5 years he's been a consultant with the Erlang/OTP team at Ericsson AB, mainly working on the development of the Erlang VM.
