Simon Thompson is Professor of Logic and Computation in the School of Computing of the University of Kent, where he has taught computing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for the past twentyeight years, and where he was formerly department head for seven years and is currently Director of Research and Enterprise.

Simon has co-authored Erlang Programming with O'Reilly Media, Miranda: The Craft of Functional Programming, Haskell: The Craft of Functional Programming and Type Theory and Functional Programming.
