As a Lead Software Engineer for job-matching service TheLadders, Derek is responsible for continuously improving the system infrastructure. He's been an engineer for 20 years (since back during the heyday of Gopher and Lynx), in industries from job search to ad serving to publishing to finance. He's also an organizer of the Erlang NYC Meetup, and proud host of NYC Erlang Factory Lite 2013.
