About Jane

Jane Walerud was employed as Sales Manager at Erlang Systems two months before Erlang was banned in Ericsson. She was instrumental in persuading Ericsson to release Erlang open source, then co-founded and sold Bluetail. She was Klarna's seed investor and brought in Martin Björklund, Klacke Wikström, Joakim Grebenö, Johan Bevemyr and Håkan Millroth, who built Klarna's first system, of course in Erlang. Jane has invested time and money in 15 startups since 1999, including Bluetail, Klarna, Tobii, Lensway and Teclo Networks. Jane spends her time working with startups. She currently works part time in two startups: WeMeMove and SatCube, and is also a startup course leader at STING and a member of the Swedish Governments Innovation Council.
