Loves bleeding edge technologies and to make use of them in practice. Currently excited about Erlang, ZeroMQ and scaling distributed systems. Discovered Erlang and world of non-imperative programming in 2008 and feel in love with it. In near future he plans to learn Haskell and OCaml - just to bend his mind with it and to acquire more tools for his toolbox. Believes that each problem has it's own best solution and no technology is a Holy Grail of software development.

Oortle - linearly scalable pub-sub system
Publish-subscribe systems and Erlang - a perfect fit. Oortle is an implementation of publish-subscribe messaging system, able to scale (near)linearly in terms of number of clients. Oortle runs in the clouds (EC2 and others). Tests with 200 EC2 node clusters has been done. Single Oortle node can handle hundreds of thousands connections. Practical experience of designing, implementing and testing of the system will be shared with audience.
